3. I think that Leo cares so much about what everybody else thinks because he might feel that he needs to be part of the big group to do well on the Hot Seat. I would probly act the same way he is because it probly feels like nobody needs him or wants to be with him.
ReplyDelete1.I don't really think he did anything wrong because he just stated that that is what people say. He never said he didn't think so witch then would have been a lie. Yet he is not being truthful because he left part of it out.
ReplyDelete2. I think we sort of go into the category of "them" well atleast everyone thinks of eachother as "them." Leo thinks that because he sees Stargirl as weird, So he feels he wants an exuse not to like her. Therfore he wants to fit im with "them."
ReplyDelete3. I think he cares because he wants to be like everyone else. I would probably not follow the crowd. I like who I am and who I hang out with is my business I don't care what people think of me for hanging out with the people that I do hang with.
ReplyDelete3. I think leo cares what everyone thinks because he wants to fit in. I think he likes stargirl but he would rather fit in then be an outcast. If i was in his position i would try hard to stay friends with stargirl if i really did like her.
ReplyDeleteI think he is acting that way because he wants to fit in, and not be the weird one. At the same time he wants to belong to Stargirl. He still likes her but its a really hard decision. If i was him I would not care what other people thought. ( If I was a boy)
ReplyDelete3. i think leo wants to fit in so he acts just like everyone else. i think he does like Stargirl but because she doesnt fit in he doesnt want to be seen with her. if i was leo i would not care what others thought of me. i am who i am and if they dont like me for that then that would be their problem not mine.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you all think about Leo's response to Susan? I am kind of weirded out by how happy he is that she's trying to change herself, and how interested he is in helping her be popular. Jay dog, I hadn't thought about it being in part because of Hot Seat--that's an interesting point. I think the fact that he's so happy she's "normal" now shows that he's more insecure than I thought he was. But... it's hard to be a teenager. And I am not totally confident that I would have behaved differently at his age. I hope I would, but I'm not sure. It gets easier to be different, I promise!!
ReplyDelete3. He cares what everyone thinks because he doesn't want to be looked at as the "weird one," or the outcast. He doesn't want to be called names or feel alone, so he does the best he can to shy away from anything he thinks would be considered "weird" in his world of "thems."
ReplyDeleteWhat'd I'd do differently...I wouldn't care. No one should care what people think of themselves because you can lose yourself. You can lose yourself in everybody else and you'll question who you are and that's somewhere you don't want to end up (yet we do at sometime anyway).
But anyway, what I'd do, is I'd do whatever I want and whatever makes me happy, and I would not care if I was being called weird or strange. I am who I am, and you are who you are. :)
2. Yes we so live a world of them. People always are trying to fit in, trying to satisfy "them". I think we have less "them" because I see a lot more different groups of people at school than at the school in the story. I think people should just be themselves and maybe do a little bit of comprimise to make their own group of "them". I say comprimise a little because rarely is someone gunna like all the same things as you.
ReplyDelete1.Yes he's being honest because he knows more about "them" then Susan does. 2.Yes because "them" want to judge people and Leo's just trying to help Susan understand that. 3.He doesn't want to be embarrased and he wants to be cool to fit in with everyone else. I would probably act the same way.

ReplyDelete3. Leo cares so much about what other people think because he wants to fit in. Stargirl/Susan seems too weird for him but yet he still likes her and sticks up for her. Yeah, she may be a little (lot) different but she still needs to be loved like the rest of us.

ReplyDeleteAns; No, i dont think it is right that Leo pins his comments on Stargirl on "them." I think this because, if Leo really liked Stargirl he would accept her for who she is, and wouldn't care about "them." He was being honest, becuase that is what other people think. I think that Leo will relize that he wants the old stargiril back.
E.C I would reply to Shelby. I think she is right when she is talkiing about how Leo wants to fit in with everyone else, and how if Leo looked deep inside he would be the exact same.
1. I think that leo should accept stargirl for who she is instead of making her change who she is. It was pretty true that she really was not like "them" she should be who she wants to be.
